Georgia vs. South Carolina Border War
Re: Georgia vs. South Carolina Border War
Felix brings up an excellent point. IF there is a second SC/GA game outside of the state, there will not be more than 40-50 SC players attending.

There's no kill switch on awesome!

Re: Georgia vs. South Carolina Border War
I may be mistaken people, Airdog Airsoft may have not hosted that game. It was on their website in the photo gallery, and Airdog Airsoft was in every photo, so I assumed that they hosted it. They may have just put them on their site just so people could look at them. But the owner of Battlezone Paintball and the Airdog refs told me the next game there would be at that field. I will look into this more. I am sorry if I have stirred up confusion on this topic, or if I have confused anyone.

I plan on looking into the SC GA game this week and try to lock in a date. Just so everyone knows, this years game will be in GA - and you will travel down there and kick there butts.

GA seems to have set a date of 3-10-12.

I realllllly doubt there will be more than 30-40 SC players.

Agreed and if I have to choose between this and the Benning game...well there would beno choice!
Say what you want, think what you want, it won't change the fact that AJAX will do what we want, when we want, including roll the ____ over you.

fine print: sometimes I'm serious and post middle of the ground statements based on logic, other times I will post something absurd just to point out the sheer lunacy of someone's opinion. Other times I may post something directed specifically at another forum member just to be a smartass. Don't take it personally, it's all in good fun.

Re: Georgia vs. South Carolina Border War
Hi guys, you know me well enough by now, so please allow me to add my 2 Kopeks....
The 'New' (yes, they moved back in 2010 to a new location, same name/business though) Battlezone field in Bowman is enormous, it could easily handle the 300-ish folks we had at the AOSC-sponsored GA vs. SC event #1, The Delimination Conflict. It is, however, a bit longer and skinnier than the Aircross field, but otherwise is very similar in terms of terrain variety, road/trail networks, fortified points of interest, etc. A good choice, imho, and better than the only other real alternative, the Georgetown field in Dawsonville. As with Georgetown sufficient parking/camping area might be an issue if the numbers top 175 though.
As an added bonus it is substantially closer to SC, barely an hour's drive over the border.
Airdog Airsoft, one of the major promoters over here, have apparently decided to take the reins and head it up for this year. They have the necessary experience and resources to put on a good event, imho.
On the downside, I can't attend, like Steevols I have already made other plans for the date (I'll be in OK at OP: Eastwind 5) and the fairly short notice for an event of this potential magnitude will no doubt prevent quite a few from attending. The Ft. Benning MOUT event looks to be the same weekend (ack!), so that will hurt attendance even more. I've tried to make it clear that SC will likely not have the necessary numbers for a strictly GA vs. SC approach and that they need to plan ahead for this contingency, but so far I fear that has fallen on deaf ears.
If you do attend I wish you good luck and a hearty 'have fun!', sorry I won't be able to join you there.
