getting paint off the hard to get to parts of your gun

well, someone named specter decided to sit his gun down in one of those pools of paint ooze and it got all in his foregrip and barrel, thoroughly mucking up the whole thing with rainbow colored paint. how the heck do he get that crap out? he also has white stains on the butt part of his pants that makes it look like he took a marshmellow colored crap in them. it won't come out either. he's about to get some new pants if his electric toothbrush and a cheese grater don't work. it's ticking him off.

Try using acetone... That should do the trick.


If you actually try it before doing research then you aren't very bright.

Don't try it... Acetone is a good way to melt plastics.

After researching for possible solvents to remove paint I came up with Dot 3 Brake Cleaner which will remove the paint and not damage plastics. Also, you could use NON-ACETONE nail polish. You could put some elbow grease into it and get a finer grit sand paper to removed the paint. Whenever I have had paint issues with my airsoft rifles, I have always just sanded down any rough spots to get everything uniformly smooth and repainted the whole thing. The best thing to do is use Google for ways to remove paints from plastic.

The whitish/grey "paint spooge" residue on your clothes never comes off, sorry to say. At least it didn't in over 2 decades of trying (and laundering dozens of times). It is from both the titanium dioxide and kaolin used as a pigmenting agent and stabilizer, and is effectively an inorganic chemical stain that has soaked into the porous organic fibers (i.e. cotton, etc).
You can get it off your gun though (non-pour, inorganic) with lots of elbow grease. I've found "simple green" or even dawn dishwashing soap to be useful.

i found an easier way. first, you gotta wet it and get it all wet again. then, you gottaa take a blowdryer and get it to dry REALLY fast. then you just gotta get a toothpick and pick it all off. it's pretty easy. you could just wet it and scrub it with a toothbrush and a rag. that works too.
