SRC RPK

Post by Avenger » Tue Oct 04, 2011 7:57 am

Is the SRC RPK any good? It has good reviews, but I don't trust them, and I remember someone on here have an RPK. Not sure if it was the SRC though. What are you ropimions?

I've got an RPK, but it's the CA one. I've had the gun almost 2 years and it shoots like a champ. The only complaint I have it that the wood on the stock is kinda cheap and I would like to replace it with a stock from a real one. I haven't seen one of the SRC RPK's, so I can't speak about it.
You name a game, I've been to it.

If I've banned you, then you have more than likely deserved it.

If I deleted a post it didn't need to be there or I simply didn't like it.

From experience at Airsoft Carolina, the piston is weak.

Thanks. Are the parts for them easy to find? I don't mind replacing a few worn out parts with upgrades, as I would have probably done that anyway.

I'd get the new-ish CYMA RPK or RPK-S before I bought a SRC. Steel body, decent wood furniture, and solid internals.

I'll check that out Steevo. The main reason I chose SRC is because I have a limited budget, and I refuse to pay more than $325 for a gun. :P

If you are going to buy a gun that you have to do upgrades on, then you are already spending more money than you want to. Spending more money on a quality gun is better IMO, then spending less on a cheaper gun to have to spend more to upgrade it.

Thanks Gambler, I'll keep that in mind. When Steevo said "steel body" I was convinced on the CYMA anyway. IF I can find the thing in America.

EDIT: ASGI has it for just over $300

I'd stay away from ASGI.
They have a horrible customer service, their techs are incompetent, and a lot of their items are ridiculously overpriced.

FYI the stock tang on the SRC RPK is pretty flimsy, and won't stand up to much abuse.

Steevo, I read that in a review but thought the writer had a lemon.

Vesper, thanks for the heads up, I'll look around and see if I can find it elsewhere.

Who cares what a store's techs are like? It's not as if you'll be sending the thing back in a few months when the piston strips or something along those lines. With free shipping and 10% off, that pulls the gun down to $280. You won't find a much better price than that in the states due to a distressingly weak US dollar.

The CYMA isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than the SRC.

What's the ten percent off code Steevo? I'm not worried about techs because I'll either fix it myself, my Dad will fix it or I'll have one of the numerous techs in South Carolina fix it. Also, free shippng is a huge plus.

Best site ever: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/airsoftgi.com

Looks like they have some better coupons running right now (13% off, for example).

On that note, Evike has their coupon codes on the website. I'm not sure if they have SRC PPK, however.
