Re: JG G3. No power.
You have to reshim gears when you transfer them from one GB to another, they are probably too tight. Shims are not an "upgrade" exactly, and they themselves are useless, it's how they are applied that matters.

Re: JG G3. No power.
The fuse looks fine. Ill check the motor now.
Oh and I think I forgot to put a part back in. Is there any major use for a piece that sort of looks like a bird's beak and has one of the odd shaped springs?

That is called your anti reversal latch, and yes, it is important. You really aught to have someone help you that knows what they are doing, or at least watch some tutorial vids before you ruin something else. Not trying to be harsh, but get some help man.

I knew to ask this because I overshimmed my 552 and got it wayyyy too tight...Dominum wrote: You have to reshim gears when you transfer them from one GB to another, they are probably too tight. I agree. I watched a ton of videos and looked at online guides numerous times before cracking my first gearbox. Re: JG G3. No power.
I should probably put that back in then...
And I getting some help is a good idea.
And as soon as I save up enough money I am going to get a drop in gearbox for it.

^Ditto.
Gearboxes are not a magical land of confusion of which only a few "elite" airsofters can make sense of, if I can learn them, anyone can! I started out not knowing crap and I still learn new stuff about airsoft guns all the time. You can figure it out yourself and learn to do your own tech work, anyone can, you just have to do your research and take your time doing so.
Drop in gearboxes are sometimes good when you are doing a complete overhaul, but in most cases they are a waist of money because only a few things need to be upgraded. Also, drop ins are not infallible, some of the best still have poor parts choices.

Re: JG G3. No power.
Well, if I were to turn my G3 into a hk21, what kind of internal upgrades would I want for a insane fire rate? or would I be better of getting a drop in and just upgrade that?

Insane ROF with what, an M120? I would just upgrade the gears, piston, piston head, cylinder head, and possibly motor (and battery of course).

I second that. I did that to my 552 and it shoots amazingly.Dominum wrote: Insane ROF with what, an M120? I would just upgrade the gears, piston, piston head, cylinder head, and possibly motor (and battery of course).

Re: JG G3. No power.
Ok, so now I just have to fix the current problem. I put the anti reverse latch back in and it still makes the quick whine noise then does absolutely nothing. I even followed a video to make sure everything was in place. If I shim the gears will the problem be fixed?

There is no promise that the shimming will fix the problem. It could be a possible fix. Have you checked the height of your motor?Chippy wrote: Ok, so now I just have to fix the current problem. Re: JG G3. No power.
Okay good. Also, if you have a multimeter around, check the output on your battery voltage.
If you see anything that is copper and looks like an electrical contact point, clean it with a fine grit sandpaper.

Re: JG G3. No power.
that sounds like you motor height is just far enough way that it cant do anything but it still looks okay. I had that problem the other day. But the motor is getting power so that is progressChippy wrote: Ok, so now I just have to fix the current problem. Re: JG G3. No power.
Would those copper parts be the ones that interact with the trigger and selector assembly?
