I have no idea what this means...
Hey everyone,
I was looking for a cheap little bolt action just for playing in neighborhood games and I came across an odd looking one. Its the CYMA APS SR-2 Modular. I've seen the APS part before on an l96 by AGM and I was wandering if it has to due with the way it works. My main reason to thinnk this is because I read a comment on the l96 saying it was not APS ready....Anyone?
Knowing my luck it is going to be something really stupid too :p

Looks like its the same as the well mb06 and echo 1 asr....not 100 percent sure on this one though...but it should take some of the mk96 upgrades...Im also not sure on what your asking about either In my opinion the are good starter rifles but the hop up , piston, and spring guide should be upgraded and then put a tightbore in and you would have a really decent shooting rifle...I have a echo 1 asr that's a custom build with only about 300 bucks total including the rifle and it chrono's 600 fps and is quite accurate up 250ft.

Are you coming to the training day Smoke? If so make sure you bring that rifle. I would love to check it out.

Re: I have no idea what this means...
Ok, so I'm just going to asume its the parts it uses?
Anyways, I saw the echo1 model on evoke and I'm considering that. My original plan was to get a cheap little bolt action and strip it down for parts that I need for a "garage project" or backyard use. I am getting an a&k svd for $85 around christmas but then I saw the echo1...I honestly hate decisions.

Re: I have no idea what this means...
Are you wanting something to upgrade or are you wanting something good out of the box..?
Just keep in mind that not all sniper rifles have a huge amount of upgrades. The vsr-10 has the most aftermarket parts available with the L96 coming in a close second.. I have no experience with the svd but i think it takes aeg springs and buckings. One thing to always keep in mind is if you upgrade the fps to much you will need a upgraded trigger mech to handle a strong spring so if your going to go all out make sure an aftermarket trigger assembly is made for whatever you buy or you will break the trigger mech and it will be unusable.. just let us know what kinda range and fps your trying to get and we could help you with putting together a good sniper package

Well, I want I decent stock sniper that I can upgrade. I'm looking for a gps range of 470-490. or an m8, I have yet to see an aeg m8 aside from BE. If you know anything on it that would be a great help because from my experience, BE likes to sell guns that catch on fire.

If you do i would suggest this one I have shot it before and it has everything you need and should be in your fps range without doing anything..here is the link

I wouldn't buy one unless it was a good deal because I think their too popular. I want a gun that is unique...but To answer your question; yes, I do like them..sort of...

Re: I have no idea what this means...
Ah i see....I know exactly what you mean...Thats the reason i bought the echo 1 asr...but...there is not a whole bunch of upgrade parts for it...well it takes a good bit of L96 parts but good luck on the trigger mech...I had to do a custom mod on mine to make it strong enough for my spring

Re: I have no idea what this means...
How well does it shoot stock? Because if I due end up getting it for christmas I am probably going to get the bolt upgrade for $35(480fps), some desert tiger bdu, some cadpat arid if I'm lucky, and maybe a tight bore for it. So what I'm saying is, I'm not going to get many upgrades for the first 3 months, my birthday is in april. What upgrades did you put in it?

Re: I have no idea what this means...
The hop up unit was total garbage on mine...dont know if i got a lemon but i went with a pdi hop up chamber for 60 bucks which gave it excellent compresion and a pdi ak47 tightbore 450mm 130 bucks, which another brand would do fine as well and save some cash too and the upgrade package for it your talking about would put you around 500 to 520 but if you get one and upgrade it like this pm me and ill walk you through a great trigger mech mod for it so it wont snap under pressure. because theres not an aftermarket trigger for it as of yet.. id be glad to help with any build you want
