Tribute Poetry

Ok, I just asked what the name of a song was in the background of a video.  Cantttype mentioned it was Hands Held High by Linkin Park.  I looked it up on youtube and watched this video A iraq tribute with linkin park

I got a little inspired and felt like writing something out that just came to me because it seems like many people in America have forgotten what we're fighting for.

Lest We Forget
Lest we forget
The towers that fell
When our world was plunged
Into the depths of hell

A day so dark
Who could understand?
The countless lives lost
On this great land

So many have forgotten
What we’re fighting for
When we send our soldiers
Off to war

Would I give my life?
Could I volunteer?
To protect this country
From a danger so near

Lest we forget
The soldier’s lives we’ve lost
One is too many
There’s no counting the cost

Terrorists still plot
For the coming day
To destroy more towers
And take our spirit away

But, strong we’ll stand
For we have a debt
To protect our country
Lest we forget

It sort of seems like something that Rise Against would sing, if only because of the style of the words.
