Since I cannot use my mesh mask at Fulda, I will be using a paintball type mask which is just basically a set of full seal goggles with a front cover over the nose and mouth. The goggles have vent holes in the top.
To stop fogging, I am going to install a small fan at the vent holes. I was going to install the fan facing down so that it blows air INTO the goggles. I just read this review (http://www.southcarolinaairsoft.com/php ... =24&t=6300) where the fan blows air OUT of the goggles. I was wondering if y'all knew if most fan/goggle assemblies blew air INTO or OUT OF the goggles and if you had opinions which direction would be better.
Question about mounting a fan in mask/goggles
Re: Question about mounting a fan in mask/goggles
I have installed a fan kit on a pair of Wiley X goggles prior to going to OKI VI, and I wore the same pair at Fulda last year. I installed the fan to blow air out of the top. It seemed to work pretty well, that is, as well as it can for me. That being said, were I to do it again, I would have sealed all of the top except underneath the fan so that it was forced to pull air only from the bottom thereby cycling air across the lenses more. Also, I have been told, and felt it to be true, that the type with the "tube" blows much harder. It was very highly recommended by Rabbit of AARP and from what I could tell it is indeed superior to your standard mini fan.

Hey Dom, do you have any pictures of your goggle setup? I have a friend who just got some Wiley X's that is looking for ways to reduce his fogging.Dominum wrote:I have installed a fan kit on a pair of Wiley X goggles.

I don't, but it's not complicated.

Thanks that is exactly the kind of thing we were looking into with that turbine hose fan! Except he was going to use a tire or ball bump and do it manually... I'm going to show him this.
