DMR project

Post by thebutnugget » Fri Mar 30, 2012 4:57 pm

hey guys! Im looking into turning my scar l into a DMR. Im kind of new to what is needed to make this happen,if anyone has some good advice as to what are some good set ups , like who makes good high torque gears and motors etc... and any other internal parts needed to build this. If anyone can help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

I can't really say anything about the internals, since I am dumb and slow to learn, but if I may make an external suggestion:
If you plan to go with a nice, long inner barrel by way of the extension most SCARs come with + a silencer of some sort, or even just a REALLY long outer barrel, an RIS extension might help to balance out the look of the rifle.

Plus, y'know, more room for a bipod and a coffee maker, or what ever it is you Non-Kalashnikov-using people put on there. Although I'm not entirely sure how much these cost, or if they'll even fit on an airsoft rifle. It's just something that came to mind.

Other than that, there are plenty of other people on here who are ripe with knowledge concerning DMRs and internals.

What are your goals for the gun? And what brand is it?

Those two questions play a huge factor into how you should upgrade your gun. Several guns can take any number of springs stock, while others would need lots of parts. It also depends on what fps you want. If you want a 550fps with .25s, or a more casual 450-500 fps with .25s it'll need different parts.

That's a 3 gun configuration, and the only thing it will do for you in airsoft is make your gun longer and heavier.

Why not just buy a VFC SSR? Or a JG M16 and make it into a DMR platform? That SCAR up there could be a DE. Star_Folder is the man to go to on this, as he has helped one of my friends with a SCAR project as well (shadow95)
