Looking into a gas pistol

Post by VoidSuicide » Wed Mar 28, 2012 12:38 pm

Alright, I think I've decided I want to get a new pistol to complete my loadout when my m14 project is done. So here's what I'm looking for advice in the area of:

Gas pistols in general
I'm specifically looking at either the 1911s or the split-slide styles (called dragons I think)
what brands there are and how they match up price and quality wise (I have heard enough that WE is currently not a planned option)
Possibly wanting to see/hold a gun or two of these styles if anyone who has them is going to be at a game I'd be attending before I order one of my own.
Also, I'm a bit of an ocd perfectionist, and I know sometimes trademarks get removed. So links to places that have them without trades or won't remove the trades would be appreciated since the damages from removals would annoy the heck out of me.

Edit: I forgot to mention the differences between gases. I don't want c02, I know that most take green gas/propane, and I think i've heard someone (dom maybe?) mention another gas/compressed air. I want to know what option would be cheaper and the most consistent.

If you want a double stack 1911 (i.e. 2011) then look no further than the Tokyo Marui Hicapa series.

$140ish new overseas, about $180 in the states. Excellent quality and performance, and they run fine on propane (as cheap as its going to get to run a GBB).

Any particular reason you're opposed to C02?

Cost of c02 cartridges mainly. I suppose they would be easier maybe, but i don't know where they would be any major improvement over propane/green gas.

I have found C02 mags don't leak as much as green gas ones, and more consistent regardless of the temperature.

Most of your CO2 pistols also shoot way too hot.

Alright, so here's one that catches my eye, tho I would shop around a bit to see if I could find a better price.
