How does your team play?

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I have another question for the AOSC community; Does your team use traditional Infantry tactics? (ie Bounding "Leapfrogging", Clearing rooms in a specific fashion, organized ambushes etc) If so, how did your team learn basic soldiery? If not, how does your team play? (ie A massed mob, loosely connected lone wolf's, etc)

More importantly, why does your team play this way? Is it simply because its easier due to the members back grounds? Perhaps everyone sees the game as, well, a game and not a military simulation.

Regardless, I would like to hear how the teams of AOSC play, and why.

Thanks for your time,
Jon

AJAX plays like the first choice... most of the time. It really depends on the situation. Aside from CQB training we've never formally had any training events, but we've all been playing together long enough to know how the other teammates will react in a given situation. Some members of the team (i.e. severed) do have extensive training experience on their own, but we don't train much as a team.

We play this way because it allows to to win most firefights, communicate easily, and have a good time.

I will agree with Steevo that we definitely use tactics in the field that we have picked up while playing. Skirmish lines work amazingly well against an unorganized defense. As a team we haven't had much CQB training, but did amazingly well at the team competition when we had to clear a house. We hit it from 2 entrances and had it cleared in seconds.

Alright lemme lay this out for you.

Gold Team:
Drew, Ron, Star, Button, Pete, and JT. God forbid i missed someone. They won't read this anyway.

JT snipes. Recon basically. Does his own thing.

Everyone knows Star has the DMR to end all DMR's. And Button's isn't far behind. So they lay down fire.

Drew and Ron figure out what could be the worst possible advancing decision, and thats what we do.

DMR's to cover fire, idiots to run. I leik to has runs.

If we were to be defined as any sort of team (we show up in the same vehicle), then me and my brother tend to do the lone wolf thing. There's games that I don't even see him on the playing field. I'm not sure what he likes to do, but I tend to go off on my own hunting for people to pick off or, in the case of assisting the capture of a position, I end up flanking alone to cause what heck I can.

Stealth a single man or a tw man team flanking can cause a lot of problems. Vanquish and I spent my first year playing airsoft doing that and were very effective. ;)

at 3 games he has ended up with me and i just chill while he talks about his m14.
MSAT just runs around and shoots people and helps out with general stuff. I usually end up getting seperated from everyone and cant get them back together so i end up either doing the lone wolf thing, tagging along with a squad (inh at cid 2), or holding a base with stealths bro. MSAT is constantly getting new people so we have to keep changing tactics and what not.

Team Extorrus uses fire team based tactics since we do not have a full squad element. We generally use fire and advanced tactics and aggressively offensive tactics to try and overwhelm the enemy. On defense, we dig in, that simple.

We like to train on small unit infantry tactics and apply those tactics when we play. However, there are those occasional games when you just have to cut the reigns and have fun.
