AIM brand M4. Good, bad, or somewhere in the middle?

Post by Hotspur93 » Tue Jan 31, 2012 1:12 am

Alright so I have been looking at getting another M4 to replace the one I traded long ago. So I have been doing some looking and came across this:
http://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=32721
I'm curious if anyone has any experience on this particular brand and would be willing to share some of their insight with me on the quality of the gun and this particular companies products. I know that AIM Top is known as Matrix in the US so I'm expecting that there would be similar, if not the same quality. Your comments are greatly appreciated!

I can't speak for the externals, but that's the gearbox in my SPR. The shell cracked under the stress of the M160, but if you're using a more reasonable spring I would not be worried.

I just serviced one of those boxes,
you'll want to at minimum replace the piston head/cylinder head and get a shim job.

my complaints,
The bearings where loose and would fall out,
Rough piston head
No grease on the gears

Well that doesn't sound like anything I can't fix or wouldn't do anyway. Sounds like I found my new M4 now is just a matter of raising the money lol Anyone interested in a JG G36c with a magwell adapter?

Ah, forgot about the piston head. The cylinder head was great on mine, but the piston head was utter crap. Gears, cylinder head, tappet plate, etc, still look brand new after 100k+ on a M160.

Still if all it needs is some lube and a cylinder head that's better than what can be said for other AEGs of the same price
