Best Way to Clean Gear

Hey everyone, my brother bought a used chest rig at the game yesterday. However due to a cat it smells like urine. What is the best way to clean this off?

Joking aside, I've heard that vinegar and water help get the smells out. Mix them up and spray them on.

air freshener or maybe put it in the washing machine or wash it in an outside sink if you have one
