Best gun for dmr build
Best gun for dmr build

That's a hard question to answer. But I'll tell you this, most any airsoft gun can be turned into a DMR. So let me ask you this. What guns do you think look like DMRs?
Re: Best gun for dmr build
Well for me i was leaning towards a m16 build with a sniper stock

That works. M16s have the largest parts base, meaning you will have a large list of parts to choose from. Many people consider them to be the best upgrading platforms because there are so many options out there.
Re: Best gun for dmr build
Who would you say makes the best m16 platform to build from?
Re: Best gun for dmr build
Any, i mean Echo 1, KWA, VFC, Classic Army.
Your looking for how the body feels and how the mags are compatable, since youll be replacing almost every part.

Re: Best gun for dmr build
I would support an Echo1 M16 or a JG M16. Reason being is both are the most compatible with aftermarket parts. VFCs are also very nice, but need a bit more work. KWAs are not good for DMRs, they are just special enough, that they should really be left as assault rifles.
Steevo seems to like his Classic Army, but I've got no opinion on them. I've never worked on one, especially since, for the price, there are better options out there.

Based on the principle that you'll be replacing almost every internal part, I would recommend you buy just about the cheapest rifle you can find that has a decent metal body and standard threading on the delta ring.
DBoys makes both an M16, M16 RIS, and SPR that are all fairly cheap.
Some of JG's 2010 and 2011 M4s/M16s have metal bodies and MOSFET trigger units.
AGM has solid, lightweight metal bodies. I'm not sure what they're made of, but I used to have an AGM M16 and was pretty happy with both the weight and the feel of the selector switch.
Alternatively, buy an empty set of externals or a boneyard rifle since the internals are unneeded anyway.

There's no kill switch on awesome!
Re: Best gun for dmr build
Haveing trouble trying to find a decent one all the jgs i find are not metal all the dboys i find have mag problems echo 1 m16 out of stock. I am the type of person i would rather spend a little more to get a quality/comfortable gun to not have to deal with the bs of mag wobble and non functioning charging handle. I just dont like buying cheap cause it will usually end up screwing u over in the long end unless i know it wont.

Re: Best gun for dmr build
I would say the first one is your best bet.
The SR-25 is just an M16 with bigger mags, and a few special parts.

Re: Best gun for dmr build
Its about preference. What gun is comfortable for you? star will back me up with this but I would imagine that bull-pups make good DMRs because of the barrel length to gun length ratio.

If high caps kill little girls
Then drum mags commit genocide
Is tactical pastel pony
Oh this baby? It is genuine walmart brand.
If it has been said by Henry, then it's probably right.

Re: Best gun for dmr build
Out of your list there I would go with the Javelin Works M16. I've heard their AEGs are pretty rock solid and their M24 sniper is one of the better ones to get outta the box.
As for the SR-25 I'd stay away because as Star said there are some proprietary parts that SR25s use that could be hard to get your hands on much less get high quality versions of that part. Also the mags can be pretty expensive because they're not very main stream.
As for Bullpups, if you want an M4 length (~363mm) gun that uses the m16 length (509mm) inner then the AUG or an L85 are good choices, but they can be pricey. If you want to use an AUG for a build I suggest this one: http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.p ... ts_id=4030 (if you can find it in stock anywhere) as it already has a nice RAS and it has a pretty decent MOSFET (from what I've heard) built into it, I actually want one of these myself, and mags usually aren't a problem to find.

Augs have a very weird system, and I hate them.
The mags are wobbly to most people, and the large open section is perfect for holding any debris that can get in your gun. We pulled out like a whole tree last time i cleaned a friends E1 AUG
Star can tell you about the L85s.
