I thought there was a rule regarding ammo limits, but that must have just been an admin decided per game rule... Anyway, are there any limits on the capacity for a box mag? the box mag I have holds about 2k rounds. I plan to fabricate a new box mag for the m249 that holds at least twice that (due to my plans to build a technical for this), but I don't want to build a mag that holds 5000 BBs when there's a 3000 round limit.

Its really the admins call but most times it is never enforced. At TDC I saw lots of people with box mags on m4s and people breaking ammo rules. Only time it really ever matters in a game is a real mil game. Most times its stopped at one support per side or something like that.

If you build a 5000 round box mag have at it. My m60 holds around 4000.

^ What he said. The limits are decided on a per-game basis. As far as their not being enforced at TDC, I saw a couple of players with box mags aswell. They were told to ditch them and use normal mags instead, but I'm not sure if they ended up swapping or not. I didn't see any in the formation during the briefing, so I assume they switched after the game started.
