What will work for me?

Post by blackout » Mon Mar 07, 2011 8:55 pm

What will be the best fitting plate carrier for me that is cheap? I am looking at the Condor Modulare Operator Plate carrier since it is cheap but I do not know if it can fit me. I am about 5 7, 125, skinny in the stomach area, smaller but not small shoulders (if that makes sense). Thanks

It really depends on the money you are looking to spend. Most Condor PC's run big. If you buy a real rig ie Eagle, Paraclete etc. they come in different sizes. You can also go with something like a HSGI wasatch or weesatch as they are rather small.

This is my best recommendation if you're on a tight budget.

I bought one several years ago when I was about your size and it fit me perfectly. It's not Pantac, but for $45 it's hard to beat. I've worn mine to 20+ games now and it has yet to show any significant wear.

On another note, I'm 5'10, 175 pounds and I still wear it comfortably.

I was going to get it in OD but I have yet to seen it in stock and they won't respond to my emails about its return.

I'm about the same size as you, and I use this. It isn't a Pantac or anything, but I find that it works very well for me. I have 2 single M4 bungee mag pouches a double M4 mag pouch, an admin pouch, and a radio pouch on the front. On the back, I have a Condor Hydration Backpack. That just about fills it up, but you can stack things on top of each other, of course, if you need more pouches. For 45 bucks, it's worth it.
In OD Green ($45)

In Black ($40)

I have that one, but the Condor version that is 15 dollars cheaper, and I want more space.

Whoah! Hold on. The sizes real steel plate carriers come in are ballistic plate sizes- not person sizes.
I'm 6'2'' 150lbs and I had a Condor Modular Operator PC. It should fit if you put some replica plates in it to take up some of the extra space. If you don't want to buy some, you can make them out of foam or just fill the plate pocket with a bunch of rags or something.
