okay, just making sure, they had the worst system for distingiushing assault weapons, they just went looked through a bunch of guns and banned the scary ones

They didn't just pick the "scary" looking guns, they picked militaristic weapons. For example, rifles that had features like threaded barrels, folding stocks, the ability to attach a grenade launcher, bayonet lugs, etc were all classified as assault weapons. It's not like the federal government just banned all phased plasma rifles in the 40 watt range.

Believe it or not, not everything that airsoftsniper11 posts is trolling. I don't agree with the ban, but it wasn't entirely without logic or forethought.

Guys, it's S.O.P. and plain common sense to not discuss things like making mock suppressors, ESPECIALLY if you're doing things like adding foam. I don't give a wet slap what the technical legality of it is... don't be stupid. This ranks right up there with uncovered/uncased transport of airsoft guns. It's not illegal, but it's certainly not smart.
